Oscar Film Unit Gold Anthology is a collection of student films made by the University of Surrey's film society since its formation fifty years ago.
Although an intial version of the Gold Anthology has already been released, we consider it to be a first draft. The project to get a decent digital transfer - and, more generally, to protect the original 16mm films from further decay - is ongoing.
In particular, we are attempting to establish a viable library of 16mm, 8mm and video master copies. Following this, we will undertake a feasibility study into a professional, high-definition transfer to digital formats.
We endeavour to keep people up to date with progress via the quasi-official OFU Alumni website.
We have also placed a selection of films online at OFU's WebPlex screen.
